Grasslands differ around the world, from the prairies of north america to the african savanna.

Grassland habitat animals and plants. Because they are low to the ground and don't need much water, they only grow less than six feet tall and many. Because each habitat is different, animals and plants found in a particular habitat have changed or adapted themselves to survive there. Grassland, area in which the vegetation is dominated by a nearly continuous cover of grasses.

Vegetation on the african savannas, for example, feeds animals including zebras, wildebeest, gazelles, and giraffes. Plants found in grassland habitats include: Grasses, long and short sunflowers

The grassland biome is the characteristic community of animals and plants found in the world’s grasslands. All the continents of the world except antarctica contain some grassland. They make it to a small grove of scrubby trees, but they can’t let their guard down yet.

The grasslands of australia provide habitat for kangaroos, mice, snakes, and a variety of birds. Birds of prey, such as the barn own and falcon, hunt small mammals that hide in tall grasses. In south america, especially in the countries of argentina and uruguay, the grassland is called pampa, and in other parts of south america they are called llanos.

For example, a polar bear is adapted to live in polar regions. It is distinguished by it’s long, narrow neck and red, white fur. Many of these ancient grassland have now been lost as we've used the land for building or farming.

Bottom of the food chain, probably the most populous species in the grassland. Flooded grasslands and savannas is a terrestrial habitat type of the wwf biogeographical system, consisting of large expanses or complexes of flooded grasslands. Suddenly a cheetah leaps from its hiding place, and the animals zig and zag across the savanna.
